Is there somewhere on line to buy clove polyps? I find it difficult to find them.
Thank You

Most online vendors have them just check the softie section or just the whole site , most sponsors on here have them. If they don't now just keep checking.

some non sponsors Reef kingdom , aquatic collection, ebay , there are so many hahaha

Ironic that you mention how most softies are toxic , I FINALLY got my coral book back from my co-worker ( almost a year %^&&(*) lol and I was reading the Clavularia section they do have toxions but you would have to eat them. I will post what kind when I go to work tomorrow because the book is on my desk. I also found some more info reefers can use.

LOL ^

Here is the info " Clavularia are unusual corals in that they are not easily damaged by the stings of other corals and do not themselves attack other corals. In fact, they posses only rudimentary nematocysts ( mostly in the gastrovascular cavity) , but seem to have efficient chemical defenses to discourage potential grazers. " ~ Eric H. Borneman

I wish that I would have read this earlier this week! I added a waving hand that turned out was past the point of return. When I pulled it out of the tank and put it in a container, there appeared to be some type of worm or something. I couldn't get a clear picture but posted in reef discussion. Here's the pictures and now I wish that I would have FW dipped them, not that it would have helped this particular coral. It smelled awful!

I noticed a worm like that on my daisy polyps, all my cloves and daisy polyps have been slowing fading away so those worms may be causing it but I haven't actually seen them in action.

Not "true" clove polyps but here's some interesting tiny blue guys I picked up recently. I had an ID but forgot the name.....oh well. Each polyp is about 2-3mm across.

I guess not cloves but kind of close (unless Anthelia counts, I really don't know but I assumed its different or more of a "pest").

My Puffer used to sleep in it :)

Is there such a thing as pulsing cloves? I saw something at the LFS that looked like white clove polyps (to my untrained eye) that was pulsing like Xenia. The appearance was much more compact than Xenia and it was a colony about the size of a large softball. I suppose I should have asked.

It looked pretty cool.

thanks,
hank
