we just bought a pair of clowns at our LFS. the LFS had received them about a week prior to us taking them home. they seemed great and happy while in their tank and appeared to be fine when we put them in ours. we have a 34 RedSea Max.
after they had been in for about 24 hrs, we noticed a spot on the white mid-section portion of our ocelaris smaller clown's right side. orginally it looked like a small shrimp was attached, but now it just looks like the white is discoloring to orange. there is now another spot on his left side and it's doing the same thing. he does have some mucus looking substance on him, but it's not horrible. has anyone ever had this problem before and what should i do?
he is eating fine. the first night he was in the tank he was hosting our green-star polup, he's no longer doing that. also, our chromis is very agreesive towards him... could it just be stress???
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
