cool...how long have you had them...ive had 2 pairs for almost a year now...& they do their dance all the time...but still nothing...

It's been about 2 years. Over the past few months, they have been checking out various spots. They finally picked one right next to their xenia "anemone."

I don't plan to raise them. Free food. But maybe next time.

They're black & white ocellaris. Great fish!

maybe next time.

get ready, mine layed at least twice a month for about 6 months. I don't know if they figured out is was useless or they just got tired but they stopped and that was that.

Here's progress. You can see their little eyes!

The parents.... One I bought from Jim's Exotic Fish in El Segundo. It was wild caught (apparently just before the ban on Australian ocellaris). I bought it in pair of juveniles, but one of the two died. A few months later, I bought the second through an ORA group buy organized here on RC.

dude you should offer them to somebody who could raise them...like morgman...

That's not a bad idea. I have been reading my "Clownfishes" book about raising them. Seems I have about 3 days before they run out of food from their yolks. If I can catch them when they emerge, I'll give them away.

The rest hatched in the past hour. I read light inhibits hatching, but I guess the natural light from the room was not enough. Now I have an idea of the cycle. Let's see what happens next time.
