clown fish changing colors

I have a maroon clown with yellow stripes, at least I had one. it is now almost black, the yellow stripes have almost disappeared, and they are a greenish color. In other words, he is not nearly as pretty as he used to be. Could this be due to diet? We feed a combo of mysis shrimp, cyclopeez and Formula Two flakes with garlic.

he is about 4 years old. here's a pic

My maroon has done the same, she still has her stripes but the rest of her has gone a very dark colour. Not sure on her age. She is with a small male who is still a normal colour. Subbing to this for answers as well......

It's likely due to you keeping him with a Rose bubble tip anemone. Almost all the gold stripe maroons that I have seen associating with that color morph of anemone darken up just like yours. White stripe maroons don't seem as responsive to these men's for some reason. Oh as a side not your he is most likely a she at this point.

thanks for your feedback, we do indeed have several rose tipped nems in there, and he loves them dearly. I guess we'll have to change his name from Larry to Lorraine :lmao:
