Hey all,

I had a Condy anemone that my clowns loved and hosted with for about 4 months. It recently got sucked into a powerhead and i lost it.

Today, i bough a lime green bubble anemone and want to know how long b4 the clowns will begin to host in it????

I think they are just looking for the anemone i usted to have in my tank now.
any tricks or tips????

thanks guys

I have heard it's hit or miss on getting clowns to host anything. If you can get a nem that your species of clown is known to host in the wild, then I'd say IMO that there would be a greater chance on them hosting it, rather than something that you like.

Kinda like when your mom used to dress you, just cause she liked it and thought you looked 'cute' doesn't mean you did, and consequently got swirlies at school for it.:lmao:

Im 15.... Jk i know what u mean, but i really am 15. I think a the green bubble tip is a normal host for clowns is it not?

I wish i could like net them then put th net above the anemone lol

To be honest, you're relatively lucky your (probably) tank bred clowns hosted in the first place. That probably does increase the chances of them hosting again, but there definitely isn't a set limit, and they may not host at all.

In a few days, or maybe never ;). Two factors in your favor. One, your clowns hosted (or were hosted?), before, so they may do so again. Two, BTA is one of the more common hosting anemones. Good luck!!

Yeah, I read the night that they began to host my condy that it is EXTREMELY RARE for them to host on one.

Yeah, condy's are found in the Atlantic/Caribbean and clownfish aren't, so they wouldn't, naturally, pair up. I think that if they hosted the condy, they will probably host in the green bubble tip, eventually.

I have two clowns. I bought a BTA for them in hopes they would host. After about 2 weeks, they didn't. One night, I taped a picture of a clown in an anenome to the side of the glass. The next morning, the anenome began hosting one of the clowns. The other still doesn't. Both are tank bred.

Something to try I guess...

well guys, THEY ARE LOVING IT!

one finally just barely started to touch it, just ever so slightly. it was very funny. But now,
They can't get enough of it!

WOOOT =D

Cool, there's nothing quite so lonely as an anemone with no clowns ;)

The problem, of course, is now they'll defend their territory!
