Mocha or Darwin? It's gotten significantly more black as its grown but its still pretty small.

Interesting. It was sold to me as a Darwin by the LFS but it definitely doesn't look like a Darwin to me

I've seen them as well. But here they're labeled as "photon" which could mean Onyx/Darwin as mentioned.

So any guesses on what I should expect the coloration to end up being with this guy? The black seems to be taking over more surface area as he grows.

Yes and no. Depends on lineage, etc. What if yours is Photon X Darwin? That's also a possibility. however, yours doesn't look like a pure Darwin based on the photo you posted.
Also, the tail misbar is far more common among Onyx clowns than Darwin.
