Clown Issues...

started to add Vita Chem to the water last night to try and help her get her appatite back... Vita Chem has many vitamens including B12.... it also says that it can help Fin Regeneration and Lateral Line Disease... i dont think that the Vita Chen will work alone to help with the eating so i am going to get some Beta Glucan and hope for the best...

also i will be using Mardel's Saltwater Maracyn-2 for the secondary infections to help with the fin-rott and what ever else the clown might have.

How's the stomach? Are there any other ongoing treatments?

Does anybody else have any thoughts as to how to proceed at this stage?

That the fish survived this long amazes me.

sorry to say that the fish died last night... i have spent over $100 trying to nurse this fish back to health, i feel that i have done everything posible, yet i still feel i haven't done enough... this little sick fish has put me on an emotional roller coaster... countless hours of research... arguements with the girl friend.... hours of driving from here to there.... just to have a fish die on me.... :mixed:

Sorry to hear the bad news. Brook kills very quickly, it is already a miracle that Clarkii has survived this long. You have done alot to help her recover, and hopefully you have learned alot through this ordeal so her death was not wasted.

In it important to note that you should not put another fish into the main tank. You need to let the tank run fallow (fishless) for at least 4 weeks so the parasitic ciliated protozoan will die off.

In the future, make sure you quarantine all fish before you put them into the main tank. Of course, I am sure you have learned the importance of quarantine in the hard ways.
