clown size

I am hoping to buy two small perculas. How small should I buy them to ensure one has not already begun to become dominant. I'm somewhat limited b/c when you order these they generally come as small med and large. I know there will be no exact size to determine male clowns versus female, but a ballpark would be helpful. Thanks in advance....

I've heard people say that at 2" it's usually safe to say that a clown hasn't turned female, but the smaller the better.

I'm sure wherever you're ordering them from can help you out...I'd call them up and ask them to send you two small clowns, but if possible one clown that is visibly larger than the other.
