clown tang...how difficult?

I have a clown tang in my 120g and I have had no problem keeping this fish. I have had problems with my regal blue hippo tang and my sailfin but not with the clown. It is fairly aggressive towards to other tangs but not more then any of the other tangs.

I think this is a beautiful fish and enjoy keeping it in my aquarium.

I agree with thirschmann , I just had to be patient and wait till my tank was cycle for at least a year before I put any fish or corals in it ,the whole time I monitored the water pars and did weekly mild water changes like all my other reef's. here's my clown tang and many others,

tangs are super sensitive to ick problems from stress in water quality, temps, salt level, and most of all love in this hobby (patience pays off).

i figure may be ill give it a shot...
4 months experience, a 75 gallon aquarium, you just lost a Kole and Powder Blue to cryptocaryon and you want to introduce a Clown Tang?
:crazy1:

I think the I'll give it a shot line was referring to using kick ich to help out his tang, not making a decision to add the clown tang.

The key to sucess with clown tangs is getting a healthy speciman right off the bat and providing them with a suitable habitat. In the past, these fish were mainly coming out of Indo-Pacific collection sites so they were more than likely being "juiced" and would only last a few weeks and then die. Recently I have been seeing better specimans and a influx of hobbyists noting some promising husbandry success with these fish. They also have very similar care requirements to Achilles Tangs which is the need for high water movement in the tank, above average oxygen levels, and a decent amount of free swimming space which fits in well to current SPS tank models.
They are also very territorial and generally give Sohals a run for their money in this regard.
