I think this mite be my first post but ive sifted through old posts and didnt get far. I have a 55 gal with an osc. clown, lawnmower blenny, and watchman goby. Any way I can add another osc. clown? I know that I cant just throw one in there but what if I rearrange the rocks or something? Thanks for all the help

Then I read further down and see two posts asking pretty much the same ? thats why I never post because most ?s have been asked

Hey man welcome to reef central! You have came to the right forum to ask.

Yes you can add another Ocellaris clown to your setup that you have. However, the only thing you have to pay attention too is the size of the Ocellaris. Buy an Ocellaris clownfish that is SMALLER than the one you have now. This way, you are not interfering with the pecking order in your tank and your Ocellaris clowns will be less prone to fighting. The one you have now will turn into the female and the smaller one will become a male. Hope that helps and once again welcome.

you should get a camcorder or similar device, and set up a chair in front of your tank. if you pick a good small clown that is a male, then your female clown with MAKE him. the process is amazing to watch.

you will feel for the little guy when he first goes in, but in the end, she wants a hubby to make babies. Here is what to look for.

1) pounding. she will beat on him. this can last a couple of hours to a couple of days. She will take runs at him and he will dance out of the way at the last moment, never making an aggressive move toward her

2) soon she will tolerate his existance in the tank, only fainting at him during feeding time.

3) then she will allow him to eat (most of the aggression period is past at this point)

4) then she will start giving him the eye. If she has no anemone then she will start digging heavily in some area, most likely on the back wall behind a rock setup. She will swim in and out of the house in plain view of her soon to be man. here is where you find out how smart he is. If he takes the hint, he will make his way to her and eventually into her lair. If not, she will eventually get frustrated with his dense-ness and corall him into the home

5) once they are sleeping together you are home free. Soon he will be grabbing food at feeding time and then bringing it to her as an offereing. From time to time she will reciprocate.

6) now you just have to wait for you little boy to become a man, and they will start spawning.

Good luck, you are gonna enjoy it, Kevin.
