How long does it typically take for clowns to form a pair....
I can tell which one will be the female as there is a size difference, but the female wont let the male come into BTA...is this normal behavior. If so how long will it take to before they actually form a pair bond.

I'm going through this too. Nobody will be able to give you a time limit because there is no certain time. One morning, you'll wakeup and look in the tank and you'll see them snuggling together! Just keep on waiting it out man...let me know how it goes and I'll do the same.

it varies. I had a proven female and when I added a juvie/male for her they were breeding in less than 2 months. I also had a pair that I bought as small juvies and she is just now letting him under the oral disk of their anemone and they've been together for about 6 months.

Depends greatly on the species.

Percula or Oscellaris... accept a mate into their anemone easily, minutes to a few days at best.
Tomato/Cinnamon/Flameback... is very size dependant. Large more mature females, seem to take to a mate better and let them into their territory. More secure in their dominance I guess.
Maroons... well, they'll be a pair before he gets in. If he's not pinned in the corner, he's likely in the anemone.
Clarkii... If I can get one of my females to quit killing their perspective mates, I'll let you know!

MY female clarkii is doing the same exact thing with my juvi. She lets him sleep in my carpet at night but during the day she won't let him in the carpet.

Still no luck. The specific clown I have is the Fire Clown, which I believe is a morph of the tomato. Any way still no luck...poor guy I almost feel bad for him....
