clownfish/anenome pair

hi everyone,
i'm trying to decide on a clownfish/anemone pair for my new 72gallon. i have a GSM in my 29g biocube (going to be a species tank) so i want something different for my 72gallon.

i'd like the anemone to be colorful(as possible), be a sand dweller or one that would stick to the base of my rock work and one that won't take up half of my tank. so i'm pretty sure that excludes carpets. i was thinking about a pink/purple sebae? i don't know?

next comes an interesting clownfish that will host. i'm thinking about a pair of clarkii's or maybe pink skunks.
but i'm open for some interesting pairs!! i have a bta now but i don't know much about other anemonies......i need some direction!!!

thanks

Actually haddonis are the best for staying in the sand or base of the rock. Yes they can get big, but growth shouldn't be too fast if you don't feed it heavy.

i was secrectly wanting one!!!! so i like your answer.....a haddoni and a clarkii pair sounds good to me!

should that be ok in a 72gallon? is there a way to prevent my fish from becoming a haddoni snack? (other than the clownfish pair that will be hosting it, hopefully)

In the 9+ years of keeping Haddonis, I have only lost 2 fish to them. I have two in my 58 ( a blue one, and a green one, the blue one hosts a pair of pink skunks ). Also have a tan one with my Clarkii pair in my 75. As to why I have only lost two fish, I wish I knew what I was doing right, but nothing sticks out compared to other people.

Here is a picture of my Clarkiis with my tan Haddoni.

toddrtrex- since you've had haddoni's for along time.....could you give me some pointers?
flow i'm still unsure about.....i've read that haddoni's need strong, indirect current.....what does that mean? just don't point a powerhead at it? do i need a wave maker? anyother "pearls of wisdom" you'd like to throw at me i'd appreciate it

Ive also had haddoni for some time. But i have had significant fish loss from the carpets. even some coral loss. From everything ive read and heard it is normal for the haddoni to devour anything that run into into it. and also damga any coral in its path. Toddrtrex i wish i had your luck. i cant tell you the $$ amount that i have lost until i started my anem tank.

I have found that mine don't like strong flow at all. (( compared to a gigantea carpet )). Seems like if the oral disc folds are being lifted too much they will become unhappy and either move or retract. It is a fine line between too much flow and not enough.

The key ( and this is for any anemone ) is getting a healthy one. A tight closed mouth, very sticky, and an undamaged foot. Overall, I have found them fairly easy to keep -- after the first month. Have had issues getting healthy ones, that very settle in.
