Clownfish Breeding behavior

OK so I have had this pair of ocellaris clownfish for about 8 months. As I was feeding I noticed on the female you could see her main bone around the middle stripe. This clownfish eats plenty of food, I feed everyday and I feed a mixture of brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and flakes.

Could she be getting ready for eggs or is it something else?

Which bone? Could you either post a pic of your fish, or download a pic of a clown and circle the area in MS paint and put it up so we could see where this anomaly is?

When clowns get ready to lay eggs, they "hydrate" or look super fat in the lower stomach area. Like they just ate two thanksgiving dinners...

After I fed last night and the clownfish ate fine and the spot that i circle was still skinny.

The clownfish is getting more agressive and cleans rocks.

Your thread subject asks about breeding behavior - but then your post says your female clown is skinny.

As far as I know being skinny does not equate to breeding...mine were super fat before they went off to do their thing. The male was constantly cleaning the nesting area before the female laid her eggs. Behavior wise I noticed both of them would "dance" together in a part of the tank that they never frequented before (away from nest). Next thing I know I see orange eggs at their nesting site and the male vigorously defending.

Good luck!

p.s. stop feeding brine if you are want healthier fish. It's like popcorn for people.
