clownfish coloration a myth?

I have a bonded pair of false percs, named tuna and salad, and it's getting very easy to tell which is the female at this point because of size. Have had both 5 or so months, and I've noticed the male getting darker(he's been dark for a month or two). I had heard through the grapevine that females tend to darken, and males may or may not adjust to fit the female; hence the myth. But what I've got is the opposite of what I've heard happens. My female is still a vibrant orange while the male is more of a burnt orange. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if anyone thinks she will change colors to match the male.
Water params are all normal, everyone is eating normal, no anemone, no stinging corals, no big changes to the tank recently.
Ignore the unreasonable amount of GHA in the back. Female is on the right male on the left.

Well to me it looks like the one on the Left side is a little bit bigger witch would be the Female and also why it is getting darker

Yeah, the picture does make him look bigger, but she's spun sideways. I'll see if I can get a picture of them sitting still. shes got like a 3/4 of a tail on him though,

edit: Got a few pictures of them compared; wasn't easy since it's breakfast time.

I have never heard that females ocellaris get darker than males and I've been in the game for quite a while. I've never noticed it happening either, so I would say what you heard is a myth.
