Bit of a newbie to this hobby but just had a Clownfish die........ I have a yellow tail blue damsel, a 4 stripe humbug, a red legged hermit and a turbo. The other fish are fine. (purchased these seperate to the clown). Added the clown and 2 days later he died.
Ive had my water tested at the local aquatic shop and conditions are:

Salt Level: 1.026
Ammoni: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5
PH: 7.8
KH: 7.0

Size of my tank is 55 litres or 12 gallons..........Protein skimmer, eheim canister filter, and 3000lph Powerhead........

Any ideas?

Did you test the saltwater that the fish was in at the LFS??

If it was off to much it could have shocked the fish.

I am no expert but if you read up on drip acclamation i find it to work the best. I have a easter egg bucket i use i dump half the bag of water in there with the fish then i take air hose tie knot for adjusting how fast the drip is. Slow drip from my sump to the bucket.. I set timer on stove for 2.5 hrs.. Works good for me..

From what I've read you shouldn't acclimate fish longer than 30 minutes after opening the bag as the ph will rise quickly once you've opened the bag and exposed it to air.

Did you say 12 gallons? THATS the main issue, that tank is suitable for ONE fish of the damsel complex, not 3!

+1. LFS sometimes keep their fish in hyposalinic conditions to stave off disease. If your tank has nsw conditions, it most certainly shocked the fish.
