After 8 years my Clownfish finally laid eggs. This is their 4th time spawning. Kinda sad to see the eggs mature then get eaten by other fish every 2 weeks. For those who have spawning Clowns what do you guys do?

Sorry for the side ways pics. Not sure why they turn out like that. I've tried rotating it already. Rotate your head instead. lol

Cyphon then out at night...our place like a ceramic pot in and let them lay on that then you can transfer it to another tank...but make sure they don't get exposed to air

I've done research and thought about it, but I def. don't plan on raising the eggs. Too much time and effort that I don't have.

When my clowns were regularly laying, I let nature take its course. Figured it was free fish food

Yeah I know your pain =)..I have 3 pairs of clowns spawning and never raise the eggs..I look at it as free food for the reefs...

@D-Nak: Thanks, Clowns love the Mag. I have a rainbow RTBA as well, but they never touch it. Not sure if I want to trade them yet. I'll be hard to part ways with them after 8 years. Their one of the reasons why I haven't taken a break from the hobby yet.

@Dapg8gt: High in protein free food I guess.....lol. How's the Fusion 40 doing? Pics?

Fusion is doing great man...kid loves it.. don't want to take away from your thread but here's a pic from about a month ago, more stuff in it now lol and a mp10 qd =) .

How are those SPS frags doing?

Tank looks awesome! Those rainbow rbta look amazing. The sps frags are doing great in my bros tank and zoas are good in my tank.

No worries about taking away from the thread. It's nice to see a non FS thread on here once in awhile. Lol

It can be quite easy. Back in Germany I had several breeding pairs and even my mom could do the feedings after some training. I regularly raised hundreds of them without even having a rotifer culture - just on brine shrimp and frozen mini Cyclops.

These guys easily get 20 years old, under good conditions even 30 are not out of the question.

BTW, how big were they when you got them and why did it take 8 years for them to start spawning?

@ThRoewer: I got them when they were about 1"-1.5" big. Not sure why it took so long. They were in a smaller tank before. I guess the conditions are right now, especially ever since I got the Mag. they seem happier.
