Clownfish hosting Anemone

This is the first time that I have ever had a clownfish and an anemone. I purchased a purple with green tip anemone a few weeks ago it looks like a bubble tip and has been doing awesome, yesterday I purchased a white stripe maroon clownfish today out of no where he decided to swim into the anemone. So my question is what is the process of hosting the anemone, is him just swimming into it and staying there how it is done, or is there more to it. Do they kind of fight? Any comments of how the process is done are greatly apprechiated.

Thank You

Well, you've just seen pretty much all there is to it. The fish swims into the nem and the rest is history. They don't fight, but there may be a period where the fish has to get used to the anemone - I've had clowns go through some pigment changes untill they adjust.

The only real worry with a maroon is that they can be pretty rough on anemones, so it's a good idea to make sure that the nem is much bigger than the fish. I would just keep an eye on them to make sure that they're both doing ok.

(Oh, and I'm sure some pedantic little wag is going to come along and tell you that your anemone is actually "hosting" your clown, not the other way around. Silly, but you might as well be prepared. People get quite worked up about it, but I doubt the fish care.)

Thats good to know I didnt know that maroons where rough on anemones, my maroon is a juvenile hes only about 1.5"-2" and my anemone is about the size of a softball, so hopefully he's plenty big enough. I'll make sure that I keep an eye on both them to make sure there isnt any problem, I usually go over tank like a fine tooth comb when I get home from work just incase there is something funny going on in that shouldnt be.
