Clownfish ID

Do all A. clarkii have yellow fins and tails?
I bought a juvenile A. clarkii from an LFS but now that it is maturing I am not sure about the ID. The fish fairly dark as are the tail and fins and there is no black margin to the stripes or white at junction of tail and body.

Just curious since I was hoping to pair it up or find an appropriate nem.

Thanks in advance,

M

Thanks.. what struck me as odd was that the tail and fins were the same dark brown as the body and that there is no apparent black border aroud the 2white stripes.
Whatever it is I like it.

Very nice Clown. Its color could be affected simpy by the lighting or lack of a host nem. I would lean towards Clarkii, just my opinion??

I don't believe that is A. clarkii. The second stripe is pretty thin. In most clarkii variants the second stripe is as wide or wider than the first. Also there is no white on the preduncle, which leads me to believe it could be A. bicinctus or something similar. I don't believe its A. allardi as well as the tail usually sports more white and yellow at that size.
Here is a picture of A. bicinctus collected from Yemen for comparison. The photo is courtesy of RCF.

Lile Winwood said, it's an A. bicinctus.

Interesting. I've never seen a bicinctus this dark before. I was going to say it may be some form of hybrid but I think you are right. It is definitely a very interesting and unique clownfish to say the least.
