Clownfish spawning video

Update: The eggs hatched and it's day 8 and I have approximately 40 fry that have survived from this spawn and doing well. Again, I didn't have enough rotifers to keep up with all of the fry that hatched and I'm working on increasing the rotifer numbers. Now that they're eating baby brine it's a little bit easier (since I'm having better luck with the bbs than with the rotifers multiplying).

I have another clutch of eggs that will probably hatch on Wednesday.

how can you tell its the night of the hatch and also how often do they breed?

The eggs from this pair are hatching on the 7th night after spawning. The eggs have a shimmering silver color to them and the male seems to be alot more attentive to the clutch. In fact, I have a clutch that should hatch tonight.

My pair are spawning every 10 days!

This is pretty cool do you have any updates ..?

It's day 10 now and all are doing fine. No losses! I am still feeding baby brine shrimp (no more rotifers) and they are getting bigger each day. I did a 25% water change last night with natural sea water and everything went well. I have another clutch which will probably hatch tonight.

Mine is trying to spawn to the cleaning magnet I leave on the side of the tank? Should I try to put a tile in there for it? I have no idea what I am doing?

I took some pics last night. Will get them up soon! I'd like to put together a photo/video log of this hatch when I get the time.

Mine layed their first few clutches in one corner of the tank by the magnet and when I placed a tile there, they started laying eggs on it. If you think you can substitute a tile for the magnet they might take to it.

Get Joyce Wilkerson's book "Clownfish" and it will explain the whole process in detail!

Those are some beautiful fish! I can't wait to see what the offspring look like. Thanks for posting, and I hope you keep us updated.

It's day 13 for the fry and I still have about 40 growing nicely. I noticed yesterday that a few are starting to form their first head band. This is wonderful to see! They are still eating baby brine shrimp and I'm doing a small water change every other day.

I will try and post a picture of the progress this weekend. Keep you posted!

Here's a few pics of the fry on day 10.

It's day 18 for this group and they are growing like crazy. This group started their metamorphisis on day 10 and several already have the start of their second stripe. There are a few that are already starting to pick on the others, trying to be the "alpha" clown I guess.

I took some pictures today and will post them as soon as I can upload them.
