Clownfish with streamers?

Are you sure that's not A. omanensis or a hybrid?
Members of the clarkii complex can have many different characteristics. I have a small clarkii with a forked tail. I'll try to find pic's. I got if from the LFS. It was in a tank with a bunch of its siblings. It was the only one with a tail like that.

It looks better in your tank than it did on the DD.

I think the DD, breeder, supplier, or somebody along the way misidentified these fish.

Bicinctus and omanensis are the only two clown fish with a lire tail.If you payed 100 grand for that fish it an omanensis.Its not an Oman. so dont freek.Its a Beautiful Bicinctus.Hang on to that fish.It will get large so prepair for it.The fish is not breed to much.So it is not seen very often.ORA has a spawning pair.Joe L has a spawning pair.and one other guy

The only people who own A. omani are those who received permission from the King himself. Yours is a "Pearl Eyed" A. bicinctus, product of ORA of course. Very nice non the less!!! My bicinctus is begining to form a similar tail.

That would be like saying the only people that use drugs are those with valid prescriptions.
The only ones collected from the wild, legally, were those collected with the King's permission. Which from my understanding he never gives out, but that doesn't mean a whole lot.
Is there anything about the physical structure or markings of that fish that excludes it from being A. omanensis? The only questionable aspect of the fish, that I see, is the melonism. That can very greatly throughout the whole clarkii complex. It even changes with maturity, health, and environment, so it's kinda hard to determine species on that alone.
I'm not saying that this fish is definitely omanensis, but I'm not about to exclude it as a possibility simply because someone allong the line would have had to break the rules to bring it's parents or grandparents into captivity.

I agree. I think the forked tail can show up in any of the clarkii complex. Like I said earlier, I have a plain old clarkii with a forked tail. I can't seem to find a pic, and right now the female I tried to pair it with chewed off it's "streamers".
I'll try to dig deeper to see if I can find a pic.

Thanks to everyone who shared information on these clowns. I had no idea that clowns could or would develope streamers or forked tails. I didn't buy these for that reason so it is a nice plus! I'm looking forward to their continued development and will post more pictures as they grow. Thanks again everyone!
