Clownfish won't eat Mysis

Hey Reefers,

Usually this goes the other way around I'm told. My Clownfish only eats New Life Spectrum pellets, but shows no interest in Mysis. What is the best way to get him to eat Mysis?

I target feed all my LPS once a week and my shrimp go crazy but the clown just ignores it. I've tried soaking in selcon, no dice.

Any thoughts on a strategy?

Thanks!

My clowns eat both, but they and every clown I've had definitely prefers NLS, which is weird to me, because it's just way too convenient!

For a couple of years I fed mostly just pellets and flakes to my clown and flame hawk. When I finally started giving them frozen again, ittook a little while for them to be interested. They would look at me as if to say "hey! Where are our pellets?" It was a habit thing.

I think since TR clowns get very conditioned to pellets when they are young, they just really like them.

I suspect yours will eventually try frozen and then will love it. Do you have any other fish? Your clown will learn from them pretty quick.

My clownfish is a pig. He literally eats anything, pellets, flakes, nori, bloodworms, krill, heck even a needle stick on my hand, but once he gets a
taste of mysis he just spits it out and wont care for it. He used to eat it before when I first got the package. Maybe has something to do with freshness?
