How long do I have til she lay eggs? I just noticed the female belly is bigger than usual and she hasn't been eating any more than her usual meal. The male belly is not as big.
are they cleaning any spots on your rocks and so on. from the pics her ovipositer is not out so you at least have a couple of days. if she indeed is full of eggs
False alarm guys. I think her belly is just full of crap. It's flatter now.
They always clean and wiggle their body on the rocks, sand, and the plastic overflow. I don't know how the ovipositer is supposed to look like but if you look closely at the first picture, there is something handing out of the anus. I had this pair since 08.

it is basically a little tube that will stick out a 1/8" or so out. they are definatly the right size and age. and you said they are doing head stands. so i think it is only a matter of time.

That does not look like a food bump, IMO. If you do not see the eggs, she either re-absorbed them or she might have internal parasites.
Diet - do you feed enough of green matter? Females sometimes become egg-bound - and some speculate it might be because of too much shrimp in their diet. You are saying she is back to normal, but I would look into their diet as well.
Are you certain she isn't laying eggs in a spot you can't see?
I can tell my clowns are about to lay pretty much just before they do, and I do see a little something poking out by her rear about an hour or two before she does, and she will look back to normal a couple hours later.
Although I would like to see my clown having eggs, I'm certain there's no eggs. I fed the Elos SMV pellet food and one of the clowns might've over eaten. I saw the same bump on the other clown shortly after feeding the pellets last night.
It's a little strange that these two are the same size. I can not tell if either one is a male or female. They both have the same wiggle and twitching behavior from time to time.
