Hey guys and gals,

my clowns are being showing behavior that is weird....i have seen this since i put the clowns in 2 days ago..........

1 type of behavior is that my clowns are always swimming toward the glass like their nose is always hitting the galss because the swim into it or toward it.... thanks if you know why and reply so i know why

the last type is when i give the fish food my other fish go up to eat it but my clowns swim down to one specific corner always the same corner and like shiver or quiver at the bottom of the tank on the sand bed..... yes they finally come up to get food but before they get food the clowns stop quivering and sit motionless on top of the sand bed.... thanks if you know why this behavior is taking place and reply sso i can know why

Thank you all of you for even saying you clowns when they were new they showed behavior like this

thanks for helping me

When they swim toward the glass are you close up to the tank glass yourself, if so it is probably a sign of aggression, showing you how tough they are and not to mess with them, funny isn't it. They will also spit sand and cause a sand storm with their tails when getting aggressive.

I can't speak to the second question, I was wondering are the clowns in a tank with very active and bigger fish? if so it is not unusual for them to wait their turn to feed. Which clowns do you have? How many fish do you have in a 15 gal. tank?

My saddlebacks are vicious, they'll try to bite people through the glass and the female attacks her own reflection - she spends a good portion of each day showing herself who's boss.
Yours might be upset by something, or they could be hosting the corner of the tank - to me that would explain their reluctance to leave the area.

alrite i have 2 ocellaris clowns is wat the employee at LFS told me but my friend mark saw them and he said they were a perc and ocellaris and i have 3 very very small damsels with the yellow tails.... i have five only knowing that with a remora pro that im getting when LFS gets one it wont hurt haveing the waste because ill have upgraded my filteration but now that i tell you guys and gals about it they stop the second behavior. yes theyre doing the first still but i would like to know why they did the second one though thanks

Damsels and clowns are both very territorial fish and they are closely related to each other. I suspect that in such a small tank the damsels are totally dominating the clowns. Percula and ocellaris are often quite happy together as long as they pair up. Also, that is way too much for a 15g.
