So my clown fish laid eggs for the first time about 2 weeks ago so what I'd like to know is how often will this be happening and for how long or is this just random I'm wanting to try and raise them but was gonna wait for a few time to give it a try any help would be apriciated thanks

Mine spawn every 13 to 15 days like clock work have been doing so for a few years. never tried to raise the fry but we recently moved the clowns to a smaller tank where it would be possible to maybe do so...

i have read the best way to do this is first get the clowns in a tank with either say a ceramic pot or have a couple rocks very similar for them to lay eggs on or in.. once they lay the eggs and its close to hatching time. Day before is best. Remove the rock with eggs on it with a Container NEVER EXPOSING IT TO AIR.. PLACE another pot or rock at the same spot and same location and they will start there cleaning spawning ritual again on the rock. Consistency is what keeps them spawning .
You then need to put the rock with eggs on it into a nursery tank with sponge filters or sponge on any pumps to protect the fry from impellers. Feed them rotifers and then brine / mysys shrimp as they mature..You need to keep a eye on ammonia in the nursery tank of course
This is from my READING i have never tried ....But have done so on tropical fish long ago ..
I gave up after being bitten by my Clarkiis for the umpteeth time and handed them over to an lfs owner breeding them. He later showed me a very large Brute-type bin filled with, I swear, hundreds of the little things. Mama and papa were likely the parents of half the clownfish in Oklahoma.

Yep, about every two weeks as mentioned.
The first few batch's are usually not the healthiest so most breeders let those go, and it does take a bit of effort to raise them, so many just let those eggs become free fish food that is very nutritious.

I have my breeding pair in a 29g reef when they lay eggs i watch the eggs as they change color from orange to grey ish brown to silver on the night i feel that they are going to hatch I set up my dyi fry snager cover tank at light out and peak in every so often when i catch the fry transfer to 10g with green water and rotifers

It's funny you mention being bitten i can't even put my hands in the tank anymore without being attack and not for noting it hurts I've had blood drawn on several times so I've been trying to use glove now but ya she's got crazy aggressive towards me it's like she watches me when I walk past the tank almost daring me to put my hand in there and this happens when I'm at the other end of the tank no where near her
