Clowns spawned, need advise.

Well my clowns have spawned, and laid hundreds of eggs underneath the anemone. Found out while I was trying to move the anemone and my clowns was attacking ferociously. After folding the anemone back is when I saw the eggs. I need advise on how to safely get the new norms out. I read an article to syphon the eggs out and let them hatch in another tank set up, is this safe?

Sounds like they were probably syphoning out the freshly hatched fry at night using a flashlight to attract them. That would probably be my recommendations as well. Watch for the eggs to turn silvery and you should see dark eyes in the eggs. I know saltwaternewbie has had success with using a larvae trap at night and a flash light. Your going to need to get a large amount of Rotifers ASAP as well to be able to feed them until they can eat something bigger.

Best way is to actually remove the rock the eggs are laid on. Obviously this can't always be done. But don't worry your clowns will be laying eggs like a couple of rabbits. About every 2-3 weeks if water conditions are right. If you really want to try your hand at raising the fry start a culture of rotifiers. Some people try w/o live food using cyclopeeze and ground up pelleted like new life spectrum. Some say blending up egg yokes with a bit if water works for the first few days. The trick is to keep the food suspended. The other trick is getting enough hatched fry to survive which is why removing them while they are still on the rock. You van tell when they are getting close to hatching by the color change and appearance of little silver eyes. Placing them into a small tank with nothing more than a sponge filter is fine, but once they hatch water quality needs to be monitored as the feedings will funk up the water.
Place a smaller piece of rock close to your clowns and anemone, somewhere easy enough to get to but a place the fish will feel safe with. If your fry hatches before you remove them they likely won't survive even the first day, but on the plus side its free very nutritional food for your other fish.

I bought a 20 gallon long for QT and a 5 gallon for the eggs from Petco with their 1 dollar tank Sale. Going to syphon tonight when lights are out.

I hope you have rotifers, if not you can come get a few gallons from me for 10$ you also need algae paste/green water to feed rotifers. They will survive for 18hrs or so on the yolk sacs, but they also need to learn to hunt at this time.

You want more info text/call me.

Well my Clown fry hatched just a bit ago and I was able to scoop up maybe 50 or so. I will try to hit you up tomorrow Anthony for the rotifer.

Hope these little guys survive, have them all in a 5 gallon tank with an airstone. These guys are very tiny.

Not successful, didn't pick up the rotifers from Anthony fast enough and didn't have a little heater. But they spawned again and I am more then prepared now. Should hatch in a few days. Clowns are acting like rabbits!
