Now is the information age, and all of us have learned a great dealy from the internet and Reef Central(or we would not be here but I know there are still a lot of us "old school" folks that still love a good book.

I believe it was David Hensley(Snakemanvet) a while back suggested we start a club Library.

I think this would be a great idea, and I will volunteer some books that I have aquired myself and Nominate David for Club Librarian (Since it was your idea)

Also lets have everyone post The following:

1. What was the single book that each read that helped them get started in the reef/aquarium hobby.

2. What now is there favorite book on the Hobby that they would suggest to anyone:

Mine are
1.Marine Aquaria and Miniature Reefs by Dr. C.W. Emmens

2.The Reef Aquarium volume 1 J.C.Delbeck and Julian Sprung (I so wish I had read that book cover to cover before I ever started anything)

I have a book by Scott Palata, that I would be willing to lend out.The idea of a club library wasn't by me, but by someone else. But I will give it shot.

I do apologize if it was not you.( I am gettin older each day) But it would be nice for you to agree to do that. I have several I will donate.

Mine are:
1. The Reef Aquarium Science, Art and Technology Volume 3 by J. Charles Delbeek and Julian Sprung.

In Vol 3 they go back and update the equipment section - was really helpful to me.

2. Clownfishes by Joyce D. Wilkerson

Awesome Idea! I dont really want to donate them because I still need them for reference.

Surely we have more people than this that can read!!HA!! I know that even Dave and Richard have actually read a book or two.

Even though they may have been printed on Papyrus and were on a roll!!

Come on guys tell us your favorites!!

1. What was the single book that each read that helped them get started in the reef/aquarium hobby.

2. What now is there favorite book on the Hobby that they would suggest to anyone:

1. The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert M Fenner.

2. I would actually have to read a few more books before answering this as I have only read two.

the Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner
Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman.....
These are the two I have referenced the most...I have both in my own library . My dog chewed up the spline on the Robert Fenner book when he was just a puppy but it did not effect it's usefulness as a reference guide. Oh and of course I have a copy of Saltwater Aquariums for Dummies ....I found it to be as useful as a skilter filter.......

Sadly the last actual book I read was the original print of "The Stand" by Stephen King. I blame the internet (really I just wanted to be part of the dumbing down of America ever since I arrived here)
All reading I do is on the internet but to localize that a little better I would say I have found the best information about this hobby on

Reef Central
