Co2

Four drachma

I've recently bought a new calcium reactor, and I'm seeing a big difference in price when it comes to filling my 20 lb cylinder...does CO2 come in different grades or is it all the same?? I live near Austin Tx, and home brewery is popular here, they want $65 to fill it, and a local welding supply place said he'd fill it for $21...

Definitely buy one from Air/Gas(welding, $75 first) then trade-up for a full one every few months for $20.
(Sell them your cylinder)

Try a paint ball gun store. They fill my six pounder for ten bucks.

Use the welding supply for refills.
Mine costs the same here for 10lbs.
I was told not to use a paint ball shop because there is a difference.

Ok, thanks for the advice....I've called around and airgas said they'd fill mine for $35, said they have to keep it overnight so it can settle because it'll "œpop" if it's laid on its side too soon after filling.

I need it by this weekend so I can set up my calcium reactor, or I'd go with the local welding supply place, they said they'd fill it for $13 but the send it off and it's gone for a week.

I was just thinking the same thing, fortunately I've got 6 months to get that done before my 20 lb one runs out

Yeah, it seems that's the way most places prefer to do it...I'm kinda OCD, and like having a nice new shiny cylinder, so I just bought a new one...I should just embrace an ugly one.
