Cody's 29g Biocube

Thanks to my employ discount at my lfs I was able to buy a nice 29g biocube for the incredible price of $205! Right now I am running a leak test to check for, well, leaks :P My first impression of this aquarium is that Oceanic spent a good deal of time engineering this system. However after checking the water temp with a digital thermometer I was suprised by an awful max temp of 93 degrees and the temperature of my house was 71 degrees so my original idea of installing a MH unit. Anyway I have 2 things that I need to take care of before adding any livestock to this system. Although the system isn't incredible loud it isn't something that I would want in my room. So I can either buy the stand (with my lfs is having a hard time getting a hold of) or scoot it next to the sink (which would make WC much easier). My second issue is whether I should buy a skimmer or build a refugium in the second chamber. I don't plan on keeping any sps corals, but there will be several fish in the system. Well enough babeling here are some pics!

hey local reefer if your gonna go with a skimmer i would go with http://www.sapphireaquatics.com/sto...s_id=4&zenid=50d3fe57d28f8bf04c51226247351cb1
or the http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=TZ5311 but you would have to do some cutting on the tanks trim so the collection cup will fit. if you go with the tunze skimmer you need to do this http://reefcentral.com/forums/showt...perpage=25&highlight=biocube 29g&pagenumber=2

heres a link thats all about sapphireaquatics skimmers http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97104

i just ordered sapphireaquatics ap24 model from marinedepot for my 24g ap it should be here tomorrow. my tank is topless but i wanted a skimmer that would run quiet. hob skimmers make water splash noise and the sapphireaquatics skimmers water return is underwater so it should be really quiet. my tank is also in my room so it needs to be quiet.

Wow thanks for all the info :D I want to avoid cutting it as much as possible so that I don't void the warrenty so the sapphire skimmer looks pretty good right now. I have read a couple threads on this particular skimmer and from what I have seen people enjoy it.

It is the inards of a Coralife 150watt Hang on system. The fixture had pretty much fallen apart so I took out the lamp, fixture, fan, and wires and modded them into the hood. Currently I am using the fan from the old fixture to move air around the bulb.

Well unfortunatly the aquarium was overheating however I had the crazy idea of removing the top of the biocube and simply using my 250w SE mh retro and oddly enough the temp has stayed around 80 degrees! So here are the pics!
