Coincidence or ich reinfestation?

I did a 4 wee hypo on all my fish. This last week/weekend before this one, I saw my midas blenny flash against the sand. Then, the next day about the same time I saw my chalk bass scoot sideways an inch on the sand. Later, I saw my new blue spot rub his gill on the sand. Other than that, I do not see them irritated so much. In fact, as far as the bass and blue spot goby, havnt seen them do it again. The blenny does it once maybe every three days, that I see.

Do fish just scratch to scratch or did I not get rid of it?

but, was the 4 weeks hypo in a HT or in this tank?


if the fish were in a HT for 4 weeks, there is a possibility that the DT has re infected them (4 weeks fallow isnt long enough)

There is always ich present in a reef tank. It's the fish's ability to fight it off if they can affect the fish or not.

No , it is not always present. It must be introduced by a a fish hosting it.

+1, 4 weeks is too short for fallow or hypo, look more at 6-8 weeks

6 weeks is very likely to cause all the encysted parasites in the tank to expire. Some, however, have survived for up to 72 days but that is rare.

It was 4 weeks in an individual QT with a fallow tank. Hmm, k, guess I am going to have to keep a close eye on them to see if anything develops. At 4 weeks, look like its a 70/30 hit or miss.....thanks.

nope, dead wrong! crypt is not present in an aquarium until an aquarist puts it there.

if it does end up there, it can be killed.
