Collecting at Fort Desoto

I saw that too

But that advisory was lifted. You can check out this website for updated water conditions...

Even when I'm there I never go in more then knee deep! Let me know how you made out. Usually you can find some interesting stuff there. I go to the south most point. You park at the end where the picnic areas and playground are. Then follow path and you will see a wooden platform...around there you will find lots of hermits and things. If you go to the left there are paths through the mangroves and lots of grass flats to check out too.

Seriously, that's sort of like saying I'm not going into the water because a great white shark might eat me... Flesh heating bacteria, your more likely to have the shark bite your arm off then eating off by flesh eating bacteria.

I wouldnt be so cautious about it if I didnt have an open wound on my leg.

I play with sharks all the time but when I hear "flesh eating bacteria" I stay out of the water, lol. :hmm2:

Heard some cases of red tide offshore too, just that time of year.

I'd love to get a collecting trip together sometime... I go to the Skyway and have been the Sebastian Inlet on occasion. I'm about as land locked as it gets.. middle of the state in Sebring.
