Hi everyone,

This years collecting trip is Saturday September 15th at Swan Beach, we plan to be on the beach by 1P for low tide.

Since parking is very limited please car pool if you can.

Maps and directions are on the clubs homepage, www.longislandreef.org

For the most part collective catch and share, the seine net we use is a 45 foot on loan from Atlantis. Todd and Joe will ID the critters from each drag, we give them first pick if something rare or a fish they were looking for comes up to use the gear; most times these fish require care we as hobbyists can't provide anyway.

Weather for Saturday's collecting trip looks great, air and water temps in the mid 70s.

Hope you can make it.

Parking is all on Montauk Highway right where it meets the bay, you can use 301 east montauk highway 11946 for a GPS or Google map and street view.

I just looked at the Google street view -- so this is not the same place as last year? Last year we made a hard right and went down to the end of the road (Peconic Rd?).

There is no official address for the beach (that I know of), some GPS did not find 328 so I use both but brings you to the same spot.

George, last year the shoulder was closed. While Peconic is a public road some of the home owners were not happy with all the cars.

To help this is where we'll be, we're kinda hard to miss.

Hey everyone I'm finally coming! I was going to bring my son. How do the kids usually do there? He's almost 6. Have the tropicals been good this summer?

Kids usually have a blast ;)

I haven't been out with the trawl for the past week, so maybe some of the tropicals will have made the way north for you guys this weekend :)

It wasn't bad, pulled in good sized spot fin butterfly, some blennies, pipefish, puffers and a sole seahorse....hopefully those who snapped up pics will post them.
