I have some kind of pink zoas.
Few month ago when I go it, It was in a size of a fist, Now I see it getting smaller and smaller.
I tried to place it in a various place, up, down, middle...but no good.
Of course other colonies are pretty nice spreading.
Anyone might knows what do they like ?

400 litters Tank, 70cm high, 2x250W MH - 5 hours a day
2 Actinic , 2 Daylight - 10-12 hours a day
Nitrate-5
Phosphate-0
Calcium 450
dKH - 8-10
Using Grotech A,B,C,M additives.
1xVortech flows.

The essential nutrients and chemicals are running low in your tank. Try some Reef Solution. The MH on time is kinda short as well. I would suggest 10 hours/day for your MH lamps.

I use 1 Vortech for flows on the right side of the tank.
Now the colony is under that pump. It was in the middle center of the tank, and it was on the left side middle under an OceanMotions sprinkle getting the flow from time to time.

What do you mean "The essential nutrients and chemicals are running low in your tank" ? I use Grotech ABCM for about half a year, Thats shouldn't be enought ?
I also use Kent Chromaplex, Zooplex and Phytoplex.

If I will set more MH time, I get algee grow more quickly, although I have phosphate=0

He's using a 3 part trace element supplement that he probably doesn't need and who knows what's in it... The last thing he needs is more additives IMO.

Menta, I wish I had a good answer for you but I've got a couple colonies that do that from time to time and receed a bit and then made a strong comeback with no changes in my normal maintenance, I've got one colony in particular that has done it 3 times, each with no clear explanation. I have noticed a similar reaction with zoanthids that are getting too much light, though you said you've tried all levels... I also think that pink zoanthids in general seem to tolerate higher light levels than others, at least that has been my experience so my gut tells me too much light probably isn't the issue.

Might sound silly, but perhaps try blasting them with a powerhead or shaking out the colony vigorously in some RO water for a minute or so. I've found it can turn some colonies around that don't have any clear reason for not doing well. Doesn't make sense since I don't find pests when I do this, but I've had colonies show marker improvement as quickly as the next day.

I had the same problem before. Some colonies of my zoa's were growing, but they started to die off later. After some research, I realized I need to supplement them with iodide and vitamins. I have good experience with Lugul's Sol and Reef Sol. and that's why I recommend them. Unfortunately, I have no experience with the Grotech product and I can't say anything about it.
About your potential algae problem, a refugium with some macro algae can help. Frequent water change saves me a lot of algae problem. Good luck to you.

Grotech ABC include all additive a reef neew.
It include ofcourse idoine, trace,etc'
I might want to use a Lugul's solution.
Can you send the exact type are have been using.
I do a frequest water change of 10% every 3 weeks.
I also do not feed too much (once a day/2days).
