Comline or universal

i am thinking of adding a tunze skimmer.

i have a 34"x15"x18" tank with 20kg liverock.

I do not have a hood, just 2" bracing bars all the way round tank.

1. what is the difference between a universal and a comline.
2. a comline would seem a better option for my tank as the universals seem quite wide. What size comline should i go for with an 18" tank. 3110/2?
3. will i be able to slide the body of the skimmer under the bracing bar and get it snug with the wall ot will it end up stuck swinging with a gap all around it.

many thanks

Eddie

Generally the Comline units don't work well with this bracing. If your water level will be at least 2" below the bracing you could install the 3110/2with a 3000.26 kit and it would go under the trim. With bigger Comline units this would not be recommended.

A 220/3 would bracket to the trim but stick out into aquarium.

thanks.

guess it's back to the drawing board for a while as the 220/3 is about 6" wide which is quite a chunk of my 34" tank, and dropping the water level by 2" is losing a lot of water.

Have a happy 2004

Eddie
