ummmmmm..........okay...Back to our regularly scheduled Superman Montipora Thread........

John, the Radium 20K's are way too much blue than what I am looking for.

I want/need growth John. According to Sanjay, the EVC 10K's put out a PPFD of 172. This combined with my two 140W URI Super Actinic VHO's...should be the final solution.....

If I could just get those darn EVC's....:rolleye1:

172????? What balast? That seems very low.

IceCap Electronics......According to Sanjay's site the EVC's have the highest PPFD of any 400w SE with these ballasts...

I have my Superman about mid-reef under 400/20K XMs. I had 10K- XMs, I thought were too white. I have pretty good growth with these lights. I sure if you ask 10 people, you'll get 10 different opinions. As with anything, it's what you want/like. I've tried several types of bulbs, I like the XM's.

Too bad he wasnt testing 400W bulbs.....
One thing I did notice is that the Par was higher than most testing the IceCap Ballasts.....except for the PFO's
Does that mean that these ballasts are overdriving the bulbs?
Does that effect Bulb color when the bulbs are over driven like that?

Yea he is supposed to compile a list of 400 W too. I thought he had it up already on his sight somewhere else. I don't know about overdriving but I can definately tell you that my 14 K Hamilton looked much differednt when driven by PFO than it does now with a Coral Vue ballast.

I think he was using the new HQI PFO ballast. I understand the HQI PFO runs both SE and DE

Correct......the PFO HQI ballast will run either SE or DE.
