Took about 3 weeks and the larger of the two was spending the night hours in the LTA but now they've both finally hosted and haven't left him since. So psyched

Congratulations! My clowns just ignore my carpet anemone. 😑 Anyway that's a beautiful nem! I have never saw a purple one 😍

Nem

Nem

That IS A REALLY nice looking Anemone. As for the clowns not hitting the carpet is strange. Clowns LOVE carpet Anemones.

I thought gigantic carpet is the true carpet...anyways haddoni is not natural host for ocellaris. It might take years...Or never. I don't mind though, as long as they are happy and healthy. But if it happens some day, I will be very happy.

Thanks everyone, I'm def happy especially since it only took about three weeks. I had a regular LTA that I had in a 55 that hosted a common clown but when I saw this purple I was all over it lol. I know it's a crap shoot but I love how LTA's aren't listed as hosts for ocellaris, and even some that say it's impossible but maybe I'm just lucky because I'm 2-2. I forgot how much I loved this hobby

There's many people out there who say that LTA's don't host common clowns but I've had great luck. I guess it just depends on the fish, these two do spend a lot more time out of the nem then the last guy I had hosted in a regular LTA but other then when feeding and when I walk by the tank and they think they're going to get fed they spend all their time in there. Luck of the draw I guess, but I'm thrilled

I have a BTA but my clowns don't even recognize that it exists. Are there techniques to encourage hosting or is this really just a wait and hope for luck situation?
