The exact outside dimensions will be 141.625x15.5x16.5 making it 156.799 gallons, but when you measure from the inside (ignoring the overflow box) it's 140.625x14.5x15.5 but of course water will not be to the tip top. Allowing 1/2" of air at the top puts it at 140.625x14.5x15 which is only 132.407 gallons of actual water (minus overflow, sand, rock, and livestock)...

Yes, the longer and narrower the tank (or rather, the less like a square or cube), the less efficient the ratio of volume to material is... and being that the way we measure tanks is often from the outside... the actual volume inside is alot less than say... a cube that uses the same area of material... plus, you need alot more material in the first place to get that same amount of volume... much like the old school riddle of 'you have 20 feet of fencing, what rectangular dimensions will allow for the fence to cover the most area?'. Well, its a square.... always.

Yeah, I know. I was just messin' with you. 12' of 1/2" material on pretty much four sides plus ends and an overflow... yep, it'll remind you that you are moving a tank.![]()

I think you should put in a wave box.
Imagine watching the surge moving all the way down that sucka.
