Condi - was feeding oysters and...

I was feeding oysters and it bloomed large, and then shrivled up and appears to have died - its just a ball now with no tenticles. Any idea what could have happeend. I have had it now for almost a year???

How long has it been balled up? I would give it time. I dont know alot about condi anemones but to me it sounds like it is pooping.

were you feeding the oyster whole? I also don't know much about condi's, but even though a nem can eat a large size piece of food, doesn't mean it should. After it pulls through (assuming Zylski is right) I would try the smaller pieces and see how it reacts.

Yours doesn't do this each night? Mine always shrivels up small at night. Some nights you can't see the tentacles. They should have come out today...

Not sure what happened...but it just shrivelled up into the size of a quarter and disintegrated....

Were the oysters fresh? Put differently, were they fresh enough that YOU would have eaten them? There is anecdotal evidence that you can kill an anemone by feeding it bad food...

hmm, is it dissolving? It sounds like it may just be pooping but mine only does this for about an hour and then blooms again. Speaking of a BTA though.
