Conductivity Questions

Have my PM2 and Conductivity Meter installed.

My firmware version is 4.02_2H10

Looked like the calibration was off, so tried to calibrate it but now my readings are way off since I didn't have any Neptune 53.00mS/cm Fluid to calibrate against. Is Neptune's solution any different than a sodium chloride mixture made to match 53.0 mS/cm?

Isn't there a way to calibrate against a known reference? I made some DIY calibration fluid, and tried to calibrate against that, but now my levels are all really off:

I set my temp compensation value at 2.2
I chose the Salinity Range
And then chose calibrate
At the dry state the numbers read 0000
I selected 53000 for the high value calibration solution since my DIY was made to match 53000 and my refractometer shows 1.026SG
My numbers read 583 using the DIY calibration fluid.
The system reads success and now it shows my aquarium conductivity at 15.7 (is this PPT - it is unclear).

Any ideas?

Thanks, moved the temp probe from the main unit to the PM2, recalibrated and things look good now.
