Condy Question

Hey everybody. Can you tell me if this is a normal looking Condy (see attached pic). I've had him about a month or two but never seen his mouth so exposed. Been feeding mysis shrimp.
Thanks

I'll offer a slightly different opinion. It looks too white to me. Most Condy have a purple tip or are purple all over. There are some that are all white, but in the wild, where I see lots of them snorkeling in the Florida Keys, most (90%+) have some color.

I'd feed it well as it may not be doing much photosynthesis if it expelled it's zoanthellae. If it eats well for a couple of months and still doesn't color up at all, then I'd say you probably have an odd white one.

It does look healthy in the photo, but anemones can look good one day and expel their insides the next for reasons that are not apparent to us.

Yeah he does look a touch bleached, that's why I was asking about the lighting. Everything else looks decent though.

The slightly darker tips made me think it was one with purple tips and they had bleached out. But I don't claim any real expertise. I just see them all the time when I snorkel.

Id argue you have plenty of expertise to make that judgement.

I'm pretty sure that condy is very bleached out. They should have a tan coloring to their white tentacles.

I dunno, google images produces a ton of different colored ones, even white.

For what that's worth.

Yup, that's why I suggest feeding it regularly for a month or 2 and see if any color comes back. If it is bleached and survives, color should come back. But if it's just an all white Condy, then it will still be all white and just look healthy.

But if it's bleached and it isn't fed regularly, it will starve and die.
