Conflicting Salinity Readings?!

Just finished my cycle in my Reefer 450: Ammonia at 0, Nitrite at 0, PH 7.8, Temp 77-78.

I am using my new Apex Salinity Probe - showing 38.6 PPT, using the conversion calculator this is 1.029. Refractometer shows 1.025-6.

Which should I trust? Could the probe require some type of adjusting? I followed all set up instructions.

Don't want to begin stocking until I can trust in a reading.

Thoughts?!
Thanks!

I would try to keep some 35ppt calibration solution on hand at all times. It is really cheap & works better then calibrating with freshwater. I would wait to start stocking & go ahead & order some so u know for sure. U can try to calibrate your refractometer with ro water & see if it reads 0, but the calibration solution is amore accurate way being it is the reading that we use.

I would believe a properly calibrated refractometer. I've found it difficult to get the apex conductivity probe to read accurately, particularly if it's older. Fortunately it's quite precise; in other words it's consistently inaccurate. I use it mainly as an indicator for changes.
