Controlling 3-4 Tunze's Indep

Hello-

I have a GHL Profilux Pus II EX Professional Plus WLAN and would like to control 3 and later 4 Tunze streams. Currently I have one setup and I believe I have an additional 1-10v port free for additional pumps. Before I invest in two 6055's, I want to make sure I understand clearly what cables I need to order to allow me to control all three pumps independently.

Here is what I think I need for adding 2 additional pumps:

QTY 1 Splitter
QTY 1 Tunze 1 Cable
QTY 1 Tunze 2 Cable

Sound right?

Hi

All pumps connected to one L port will work together you would have to use seperate L ports for each pump.

So you would have to split each port first using YL2-1 and then use Tunze 1 for the odd numbered L ports and Tunze 2 cables for the even

Please go to www.aquariumcomputer.com/forum and post there to make sure the software is available for independant control of each pump, I know you can have two groups of 4 but not sure if you can create 4 groups with 1, the reason for this is majority of people run 2 pumps together at each end so the ones the other end work opposite.

GHL have the most advance control on the market for Tunze you just need to ascertain the functions you require are available now, I know they will be for the P3 for sure.

This sounds like exactly what I described. Is it not?

Makes sense for programming interface

Really....?

I know you can have two groups of 4 but not sure if you can create 4 groups with 1,

I don't follow? Each port has two signals correct? That would mean that with two seperate ports you have 4 seperate signals?

the reason for this is majority of people run 2 pumps together at each end so the ones the other end work opposite.

I would think a more random pattern would be most preferred...which is why I dropped a grip for your product ;)

I am almost positive they are available with my unit as it was a big factor in drawing me to the Profilux. Maybe updating my firmware will give me the most up to date features. I need to look what feature releases have been added in the past year. Or maybe you can tell me what Tunze features have been added?

Thanks

Not sure what version you are running but latest versions had further Tunze advancements, we are now up to V4.08.

Yes 4 pumps can be controlled independantly it is covered in section 3.16.5 of the manual here

http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Download/Manual_ProfiLuxII_V406.pdf

For more detailed info in regards to set up please go to the suppport forum, you then have access to GHL support directly unlike here, I dont have all the answer although i do my best sorry ;)

Ah yes this is what I was looking for:

"Two independent groups can be programmed. A group consists of 0 to 4 pumps which can be controlled
independently. The 2 groups can not be synchronized.
If several pumps should be operated synchronously it is wise to connect them all to the same control signal.
These pumps will then be handled like one single pump."

Thanks for your help.

Hi-

I received the cable kit I ordered today and pulled some of the cables to hook up my Tunze's. Realized after that the cables are not marked "Tunze 1" or "Tunze 2". Can you tell me how I can tell the two apart? Not knowing is making it difficult to troubleshoot my connections.

Thanks!

:)

Plug one cable into L1L2 and set L1 to illumination 1 and make sure illumination 1 is ticked for dimming

Now go to light scenarios and activate manual dimming

Plug a Tunze stream into the cable and move the slider up and down, the pump will react to L1 if it is Tunze 1, if nothing happens swap the cable and test again.

Tunze1 reacts odd numbered ports and Tunze 2 reacts to even numbered

When setting up the L ports for Tunze set the voltage range from 3v to 8v
