Time to update my clean up crew..

I have a bunch of the regulars.. Ceirth, nessarious, blue and red hermits, peppermint..

What else should I add, want to give my tank a Christmas present :)

Maybe a starfish, conch, shrimp?

Looking for something to help keep the sand bed clean too..

But want it to be cool to look at, not just a normal boring snail..

Turbos my favorite

If you want to try a fighting conch they do good with diatoms. Just they might be costly if your hermits want a new home.

Blue tuxedo adds some blue in your tank. The eat coralline but help spread it too.

We have an awesome queen conch. First thing we ever bought when we started this hobby. She has been through two power outages a few crashes and an upgrade. Keeps the sand pristine. Although she does get stuck between rocks and needs to be saved occasionally. She's a fantastic addition to our cuc.

If you want clean sand, a fighting conch. Ours are way larger than our hermits, so no issues there (plus I've never had a hermit kill a snail). Entertaining to watch as they clomp around with their googly eyes & questing trunk.

+1

I love our conch, we even swap it between tanks if one sand bed needs cleaning over the other

LOL we had one we swapped to another tank, but it's still lazy in that tank so we swapped it back. I guess we need to move the active one over there instead.

Can I have fighting and queen in one tank?

How many for a 90 gallon?

Any thing I shouldn't have with either of them?

Chris

The 1 queen conch I have in my 75 (thanks Icycoral, lol) keeps my sand pretty clean, but I would imagine it probably depends on how big theybare when you get it. The queen conch I have is about 3"

I guess it could be debatable since there is no way to gauge its growth. Perhaps it's more important to say since it does eat coralline doesn't mean your tank will be void of it due to the urchin.

That's just what I've read and observed.

I would only put one conch in the 90. It's said one per 50 gallons. Before I knew that, my boyfriend bought 2 for our 55 & I have to feed them sheet algae.

Any ideas on how a queen conch would with wrasses? My flame raises has gone after nassarious snails before.

I have a melanarus wrasse, and a sixline wrasse in my tank with my queen conch and they are all fine. I had a bunch of wrasses in my tank before a few bailed and a few others mysteriously dissapeared and none of them ever bothered my queen conch
