Cool Fish on Diver's Den

Feed them well and Harlequin Tusk grow fast, my 2 inches to adult color over 4 inches in 6-8 months. I often stand on a ladder top of my aquarium and hand feed him bits of fish almost daily. Mine would gore himself on various sea food. Size of the tank may mater. Mine was in a 320 gal tank.
There are two more Juli Australian today and one adult today again

My Indo-Pacific Tusk 5 months about 1.5 inches longer. Color of Australia vs Indo-Pacific isn't all that much different. Size and health mater more in term of coloration of the fish, IMO.

Great fish! Yeah I'll try for one today. A 2" fish even double size will work out I think short term. I'm more than ok rehoming a few wrasses if needed to (minus pintail) to make room for a husk that's outgrowing the temp tank.

I knew juvi would be small but darn. Gonna be cool to watch him grow.

No he isnt deas. Just typical tusk behavior and he is swimming around in his qt tank now as ttm is occuring

What's the long bodied fish huddled with the anthias trio? You didn't pick up an orange spotted blenny that I've seen on the site by any chance? If so, details on his condition! :D

Generic yes, but not in personality

Oh I know which is why I got another. I lost my one in tank upgrade. He used to sit in my hand as I would clean the tank or move things around. Awesome fish.

But they are pretty darn common hence the generic comment...

There's been mention in other threads about that genus of blenny nipping corals, while trying to nip algae. How have yours been?

Mine came in this morning and no way is it even bigger than an inch! What foods have you been offering and has yours been eating so far? I put some frozen brine in, and while I didn't see it eat, there is none left in the tank which is a good sign. It's hiding in the pvc pipe now for the last few hours.

I have been giving a mix of pellet, mysis, and lrs reef frenzy. Eats and swims around the tank. Mine cant hide in the PVC as the anthias have taken over that spot and are 3 times his size. LOL. I see him storing these moments in his memory for when he is the big one in a couple months

Wolfing down mysis. Watched him do it this time. Put in smallest pellets I have (formula 1 small) and I don't think they can even fit in his mouth lol. I have at least two food options so far so that will work short term while I find smaller pellets or he eats some flakes.

I've had my harlequin for about 6 months. Never fed him a single starfish. He has slowly mowed down my asterinas but my tank is so large he can have a steady diet and keep them at bay without starving or them taking over

How big is your tank? I've got a friend with a 220 that was loaded with asternias but one harlequin eventually wiped them out and he no has to feed it.
