Not pretty. Male has a pinched head and they labeled it "premium" when it should have been a cull.

Totally agree! It seems color pattern outweigh deformities. Not good!

The pair is gone. Somebody must have bought them regardless of the major defect.
I've come to accept slightly shorter dorsal and pelvic fins on CB Picasso clowns but pinched heads, big underbites and flared gills are major no-no.

I don't remember for sure, but I think I had one in the past - De Jong had them sometimes. They should be like most Pseudochromis (even though they are in a different genus). I would only keep them in pairs to keep them busy with each other. This species has a clear color dimorphism between male and female.

I believe they were originally thought to be a hybrid of goldflake and flagfin. But they got their own classification. But I may be wrong. I think Copps discussed this a while back

These were originally described as their own species... Apolemichthys armitagei, but we're later found to be hybrids between trimaculatus and xanthurus (flagfin and cream) angels... no goldflake... these are an Indian Ocean fish.

Thanks COPPS, I was hoping you'd chime in. How's the tank?
We need a few updates either here or on Facebook if possible
