I saw that fish on there and was wishing I had a tank for such a scorp! It is such a beauty. Your fu is absolutely adorable, though. I like his coloration as well.

IME, finding scorps for sale is kind of a "hit-or-miss thing, and you really need to be able to act quickly when you find them or they're gone. Altho every once in awhile, they can hang around for a bit.

That is a good ID on DD's part, as the fish does indeed appear to be S. papuensis, altho the max size on the fish is likely to be more like 7.5", with 6.5" being more likely.

Dood...I think it MAY be worse having the funds to get stuff (and a wife who shares the passion)!

Ha! I bet, course I have the tendency to go "well, I could get this one, and then just not eat this week. There is ramen noodles and pasta in the house that I could eat." Or "Well I need to buy more food for the fish, I guess they'll be eating better than I am, again."

That guy was SWEET. This is the time of the year all the cool scorps come out. There was a stone fish one there and I REALLY debated getting it. It's not the fish that is my fear, it's the fish if there was a major earthquake. What if the tank went down and someone stepped on it while getting out. I'm already debating removing the Bearded Ghoul from the little one's room and putting it in my office. Then no one would have to step over it if there was a "jiggle jiggle".

I really wanted the stone fish, but don't have a space secure enough for it right now, oh well.

I didn't know you guys had little ones. How do they like the tanks?

The "little one" just turned 14 :-/

They all have tanks in their room. They think they're cool..... and thankfully they still have strong backs to help :-)

Your Fu is an AWESOME color, Joe.

Nice fu and awesome fish on DD. The pair of red fuzzies were really cute, the papuensis was really cool looking AND I wanted the stonefish too!

Ya they have had some good ones up lately, i almost got a papuensis a while ago but had to pass due to space :-(

As much as I'd like to have a stonefish, I personally dont think they should be kept in an aquarium... but that opion might change if I ever saw one at a lfs :-)

The Fu in the pic is small ~2", started off on PE mysis when I got it. Very intense color compared to my big one, too bad they didnt get along. anyways,

Thanks for the compliments!

I didnt have room either but I can dream. lol. kinda glad it was sold...

FWIW, D. biocellatus is the most conspecific intolerant lion there is. They can't be sexed, and the chances of actually getting an established pair are pretty slim.

That being said, they do get along with cogeners fairly readily.
