copper banded butterfly

im not even sure if he'll eat the clams either when hes eating nothing i ever offered. also when i feed all the fish he comes up with them to get food n looks like he wants to but doesn't eat any of it

A lot of knowledge here about cbb. I want to get one to help out with aptasia and they just look great.

If they eat aptasia, wouldn't they eat sps polyps or other coral polyps too?

my cbb is on the side of the tank lower corner by my cleaner shrimp...idk if he just wants to be cleaned or wants to eat him n hes not breathing heavy or anything he just keeps going by the rock he is under and behaving like he is being cleaned by one but my shrimp wont come out after him. whats goin on?

you should have gotten it eating in QT first as with any new arrival, mine first ate PE mysyis after a couple weeks effort and several months later he started eatign anythgin frozen i put in

will the cbb really eat corals such as rics or zoos or torches,,, there is a beautiful cbb at lfs but the prospect of going to a fowlr tank just for 1 fish isnt what i wana do...

i had a couple aptasia appear out of nowhere, i let them live a little just to see if my CBB would eat them. No interest. Still stuck getting live bloodworms and littleneck clams. I also should mention that i feed the littleneck clam half shell in a PVC 1" end cap with 1/4" mesh cover held on with an elastic band. CBB is not the only fish i have that likes clams, but he's the only one with a long enough nose to eat out of a 1" PVC cap. I learned this trick from a RC thread of course.

I bought mine to help get rid of aptasia. He completely cleaned my tank of them in a week and a half so I bred them in my sump to feed him but he started eating brine shrimp soaked in vitamins so I stopped feeding him aptasia. I've had him over 3yrs now and he is doing great.
