Copper poisoning

Jade5051

That guy...
So, I don't wanna make an account for ThePlantedTank forums yet...but I have a freshwater Red Tail Shark that isn't responding well to ich medication/copper treatment. Did a 50% water change and threw carbon in the filter to get the copper out of the tank. Anything else I can do to help this guy?

Just try to make the water as good as possible and cross your fingers. There's no antidote I know of but time, applicable on a fishy level, once the copper is cleared out.

Rid-Ich Plus works fine in freshwater, right in the tank. Only issue are inverts like shrimp - those have to be taken out before.
With freshwater ich it also helps to raise the temperature (don't do that when treating against Cryptocaryon irritans/saltwater ich!)
