Copper treatment - would it kill Chaeto?

I know it would kill live bacteria and parasites, even the benificial ones. Thinking of using an established sump with Chaeto to filter my hospital tank. Please advise. Thank you.

As far as I remember copper may harm algae at therapeutic doses.

But copper doesn't necessarily kill bacteria, not even parasites other than ich and maybe velvet. Some velvet strains are only affected at 2 times the lethal dose for fish.
Brooklynella, Uronema and many other just laugh at copper and continue happily munching on your fish.

What are you planning to kill?

Copper will bind to the live rock and ruin them. At the same time the rocks will also ruin your treatment by absorbing the copper.

If Velvet and ich are your targets I would use TTM and dose the water of the transfer tanks with CP. It's way more effective.

The only ways to get the parasites out of the DT is either fallow (minimum 11 weeks) or bleaching the tank for a day or two and then starting over.
