Got this strange-looking coral tonight, at the Coral Reef Almost Midnight Madness sale. Anyone know what it is???

Weird, huh? Looks like big purplish worms with bright blue/green specks in it. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks, that looks like them. No insulting my taste please... I like weird stuff like that! That pic really doesn't do them justice. At least I know they won't be taking over my tank now.

It has bright blue/green specks on it too. Not just like a brown turd, but I see what you mean. Been watching it at the shop for about the month now.

If they are snake polyps, then look at your tank after the lights go out. If they have opened up and have a fan of tentacles surrounding the mouth, then they are truly snake polyps. Ugly coral by day, but something unique for after dark.

Yup, took out the flashlight last night. Looks pretty cool. I really like them & really don't find them to be ugly at all. Thanks everyone, for the ID.

yea some pics would be great. Since my day lighting isn't quite powerfull enough yet I'm looking for less light demanding corals. And I have moon lights so I can see it at night without a flashlight.

I found out this is some kind of zoanthid. Just up my alley! They seem to require medium lighting (a 5 our of 10 level). They have a couple of them left.

Finally got a response from my friend, Anthony Calfo:
"A very neat zoantharian calles Isaurus... feeding tentacles come out at night... needs to be target fed (at night) on zooplankton substituties (like mysids). One of my fav polyps. "
