Coral of the same type sting each other?

Do coral of the same type sting each other? What about coral of the same type but different colors?

I have an ORA green birdsnest and another ORA birdsnest that appears to be blue. Can I place them close together and have them grow around each other or will they sting each other?

my frags off same colony grow into each other. I'm forever laying a digitata branch across another because my tangs broke it off. They meld together and grow funky that way!
